Welcome to the Kenya Padel Federation (KPF), the officially recognized national sports organization dedicated to the growth and promotion of padel in Kenya. We are proudly registered with the Registrar of Sports and the Ministry of Sports. On May 16, 2024, when we were welcomed as an affiliate member of the International Padel Federation (FIP) during its 33rd General Assembly. This prestigious affiliation empowers us to elevate the sport of padel on both national and international stages.
The History of Padel

Padel originated in Mexico in 1969 when Enrique Corcuera created a version of the game that combined elements of tennis and squash. The sport quickly gained popularity and spread to Spain in the late 1970s, where it flourished and became a significant part of the country’s sporting culture.

By the 1990s, padel had established itself in several countries, particularly in Europe and Latin America. The first official World Padel Championship took place in 1992, marking a pivotal moment in the sport’s international recognition.

Today, padel is played in over 90 countries and is governed by the International Padel Federation (FIP), which was founded in 1991. The sport continues to grow rapidly, attracting players of all ages and skill levels, and is celebrated for its accessibility and social aspects.
